John: Must-Know Hindi Social Media Phrases Season 1. Lesson 4 - Sharing a Song.
John: Hi, everyone, I'm John.
Shakti: And I'm Shakti.
John: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Hindi about sharing music or videos. मीरा (miiraa) shares a song she just heard at a party, posts an image, and leaves this comment:
Shakti: गाना ज़बरदस्त है! सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai! SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain.)
John: Meaning - "Excellent song! Legs start to tap on their own!" Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.

POST
John: Listen again to मीरा (miiraa)'s post.
Shakti: गाना ज़बरदस्त है! सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai! SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain.)
John: "Excellent song! Legs start to tap on their own!"
Shakti: (SLOW) गाना ज़बरदस्त है! सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai! SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain.) (Regular) गाना ज़बरदस्त है! सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai! SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain.)
John: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "Excellent song!"
Shakti: गाना ज़बरदस्त है! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai)
John: This expression has the word…
Shakti: zabarDaST.
John: This is a colloquial expression of something being "rocking," "fantastic," or "awesome." It carries a connotation of the object being high energy. Listen again - "Excellent song!" is...
Shakti: (SLOW) गाना ज़बरदस्त है! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai) (REGULAR) गाना ज़बरदस्त है! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai)
John: Then comes the phrase - "Legs start to tap on their own!"
Shakti: सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं (SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain)
John: This phrase has two words that you need to know.
Shakti: khuD
John: ...meaning “self” and...
Shakti: THirakNaa
John: meaning “to tap” or “to dance,” but it refers to the feet only and not the entire person. So the entire phrase means “feet start to move on their own,” which is a way of saying that the music or beat is so exciting that you can't hold yourself back from dancing to it. Listen again - "Legs start to tap on their own!" is...
Shakti: (SLOW) सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं (SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain) (REGULAR) सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं (SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain)
John: Altogether, "Excellent song! Legs start to tap on their own!"
Shakti: गाना ज़बरदस्त है! सुनकर खुद पैर थिरकने लगते हैं! (gaaNaa zabarDaST hai! SuNkar khuD pair THirakNe lagTe hain.)
