Namaste and welcome to hindipod101.com, the easiest, smartest and the most fun way of learning Hindi online. My name is Anuj Khurana and in today’s video, we are going to talk about Five Most Common Sports in India. So let’s begin.
1. क्रिकेट

“Cricket”
Cricket is called as क्रिकेट (kriket) in Hindi as well.
भारत में क्रिकेट बहुत ही लोकप्रिय है।
(BhaaraT meiN kriket bahuT hii lokpriya hai.)
“Cricket is very popular in India.”
Cricket is cricket and trust me, if you go in any city, any state, you will find kids, big people playing cricket on the streets, on the roads, in the ground. It’s that famous here.

“Chess”

Which is called as “chess”
चेस धीरज और अक्लमंदी का खेल है।
(Ces dhiiraj aur akalmaNDii kaa khel hai.)
“Chess is a game of patience and intelligence.”
You must have heard of Viswanathan Anand. He is from India and he is number one chess player across the globe.

3. कुश्ती

“Wrestling”
Next sport is,
कुश्ती

“Wrestling”
कुश्ती ताक़त का खेल है।
(KusTii TaakaT kaa khel hai.)
“Wrestling is a sport of strength.”
Yes, you need a lot of strength if you are going to play this sport.

That means “Wrestling.”
4. फुटबॉल

“Football”
Football is known as Football in Hindi as well.
तुम्हे कौनसी फुटबॉल टीम पसंद है?
(Tumhe kauNSii futbaul tiim paSaND hai?)
“Which football team do you like?”
Well, this is a global sport and I myself is an EPL fan. I am not going to take the name of the team but yes, I do follow English Premier League.
5. गिल्ली डंडा
(gillii daNdaa)
“Gilli Danda”
गिल्ली डंडा (gillii daNdaa) is known as Gilli Danda in English.
गिल्ली डंडा बच्चों के लिए मनोरंजक खेल है।
(Gillii daNdaa baccoN ke liye maNoraNjak khel hai.)
“Gilli Danda is a fun game for kids.”
It is an Indian game. It is played with two sticks. One is a bigger stick, another one is a smaller one.
गिल्ली डंडा (gillii daNdaa) is known as Gilli Danda in English.
