| In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to use when talking with friends. After watching this video, you’ll be able to have a casual conversation with a friend, and to say something is “super.” |
| Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases! |
| Listen to the dialogue. |
| अरे, यह कार तो देखो! (are, yah kaar To Dekho!) |
| वाह, यह बहुत झकास है! (vaah, yah bahuT jhakaaS hai!) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| अरे, यह कार तो देखो! (are, yah kaar To Dekho!) |
| “Hey, look at that car!” |
| वाह, यह बहुत झकास है! (vaah, yah bahuT jhakaaS hai!) |
| “Wow, that's super cool!” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “Hey, look at that car!” |
| That's: |
| अरे, यह कार तो देखो! (are, yah kaar To Dekho!) |
| Listen to it again: |
| अरे, यह कार तो देखो!, अरे, यह कार तो देखो! (are, yah kaar To Dekho!, are, yah kaar To Dekho!) |
| This Hindi sentence literally translates as "Hey, this car so see!” But it means “Hey, look at that car!” |
| Now, how do you respond to this? |
| First of all, you’ll need to learn how to say “wow” . That’s |
| वाह, वाह (vaah, vaah) |
| Then, you’ll need to learn how to say “That’s super [adjective].” |
| The pattern is: |
| यह बहुत [adjective] है। (yah bahuT [adjective] hai.) |
| This Hindi sentence literally translates as "This very [adjective] is.” But it means “That's super [adjective].” |
| For example: |
| “Wow, that's super cool!” |
| वाह, यह बहुत झकास है!, वाह, यह बहुत झकास है! (vaah, yah bahuT jhakaaS hai!, vaah, yah bahuT jhakaaS hai!) |
