John: These expressions are an interesting way to express how you feel about specific situations.

John: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:

Shakti: सीन
John: literally meaning "scene." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "occurrence, happening, incident."

John: literally meaning "a dish made of rice and lentils called Khichdi." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "a mess, a mixture."

John: is a popular dish all over India in which rice and lentils are mixed together. This recipe of mixing two ingredients, which are usually cooked separately in Indian cooking, has come to be used to indicate where things are mixed or messed up.
