I dropped out of Hindi course at Duolingo because they don't support my browser any more... Looks like I have found a worthy rival! :)

Thanks for the course, it's well-made, and works fine even with an old browser.

Hi Agnieszka,

Thanks for your post!

We are glad that the lessons are helping you interact with your Indian friends!

To answer your question, both "Teraa Naam kyaa hai" and "aap kaa Naam kyaa hai" are singular. The difference is that "Teraa" is used when you want to address someone informally. Like, very close buddies. "aap" is respectful or formal. So, if you don't know someone very well or don't want to offend anyone, use "aap". There is also "Tumhaaraa", which falls somewhere between "Teraa" and "aap". You can use it with friends or people you don't want to be too respectful, but at the same time, you don't want to be too informal.

I hope that helps!

Thank you HindiPod! Thanks to you I'll be able to understand my favorite Bollywood movies and talk in Hindi with my Indian friends :-* but I have an issue... A hindu friend told me that in singular form there should be "Tera naam kya hai" instead of "Aapka naam kya hai"... I'm confused... Help me sort it out!
