A: Top 25 Hindi Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 17: What time is it? in Hindi (In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Hindi learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.)
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question ""What time is it?"" In Hindi this is
B: कितने बजे हैं?
The first word in the question is
B: कितने
A: ""meaning how much/how many"" in English.
B: (Slow, by syllable) कितने
A: Listen again and repeat.
B: कितने
{Pause}
A: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is
B: बजे
A: meaning are .
B: (Slow, by syllable) बजे
A: Now repeat.
B: बजे

Listen to the entire question and repeat.
B: कितने बजे

A: Listen to the speaker say, It's 12:00, and then repeat.

A: To use a different phrase, replace 12:00 with ten .

A: ten
B: (slow) दस (regular) दस
A: Listen to the phrase again, this time with ten
B: दस बजे हैं
A: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace 12:00. Say It's ten

A: To expand on the pattern, replace ten with three.
B: तीन
A: three
B: (slow) तीन (regular) तीन
A: Listen to the phrase again, this time with three
B: तीन बजे हैं
A: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace the {lang} for ten. Say It's three

A: To use a different phrase, replace three with seven.

A: Listen to the phrase again, this time with seven

Now it's time for a quiz. Imagine you are visiting India and someone asks you what time it is. It's 12:00. Respond to the question.

A: Now imagine it's ten Respond to the question.

A: Imagine it's three . . Answer the speaker's question.

A: You want to ask someone what time it is. Ask the question

The time in Hindi is correct. Also, if you would like to say it in Hindi it will be:


दस बजकर उनतालीस मिनट (DaS bajkar unaTaaliiS miNat)
