Hi everyone! I’m Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you going to talk about?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to introduce a topic you want to talk about.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
तुम किस बारे में बात करने जा रही हो? (Tum kiS baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii ho?)
मैं अपनी रुचियों के बारे में बात करने जा रही हूँ। (main apaNii ruciyon ke baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii huun.)
Once more with the English translation.
तुम किस बारे में बात करने जा रही हो? (Tum kiS baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii ho?)
“What are you going to talk about?”
मैं अपनी रुचियों के बारे में बात करने जा रही हूँ। (main apaNii ruciyon ke baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii huun.)
“I'm going to talk about my hobbies.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you going to talk about?”
That's:
तुम किस बारे में बात करने जा रही हो? (Tum kiS baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii ho?)
Listen to it again:
तुम किस बारे में बात करने जा रही हो?, तुम किस बारे में बात करने जा रही हो? (Tum kiS baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii ho?, Tum kiS baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii ho?)
This Hindi sentence literally translates as “You what about in talk do going are?”
But it means “What are you going to talk about?”.
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
मैं [topic] के बारे में बात करने जा रही हूँ। (main [topic] ke baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii huun.)
“I'm going to talk about [topic].”
This Hindi sentence literally translates as “I [topic] of about in talk do going am.”
But it means “I'm going to talk about [topic].”.
For example:
“I'm going to talk about my hobbies.”
मैं अपनी रुचियों के बारे में बात करने जा रही हूँ।, मैं अपनी रुचियों के बारे में बात करने जा रही हूँ। (main apaNii ruciyon ke baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii huun., main apaNii ruciyon ke baare men baaT karaNe jaa rahii huun.)
